Lostock, Bolton

Situated on the outskirts of Bolton Town Centre, is this leafy suburb which is highly popular due to it's commuter routes, close proximity to local shops and the style of properties that are on offer. A predominantly residential area, with some of Boltons most beautiful & prestige properties situated along and off Chorley New Road. Lostock borders Horwich and is within a few minutes drive or a nice leisurely stroll to Middlebrook Retail Park, the UK's largest Retail and Leisure Park. Which hosts an array of high street shops, restaurants and supermarkets.

Lostock is situated between junction 5 and 6 of the M61 and has it's own train station with links into Manchester City Centre, Preston & Blackpool. There is also it's own primary school, Lostock Primary School which is Ofsted rated good and just by the train station.

For the keen golfer, there are two golf courses, Regent Road & Bolton Golf Course, both situated off Chorley New Road. There are plenty of beautiful walks, from Lostock train station there is a cycle/walkway which leads by the canal to Queens Park & Bolton Town Centre. You can walk through Regent Golf Course through to Middlebrook & Westhoughton and is a firm favourite for dog walkers & runners. By Beaumont hospital there is also a wooded area that takes you passed a fishing pond and to High Rid Reservior, which is a beautiful walk. If you're feeling energetic you can even walk passed the Bob Smithy Pub (maybe drop in and have a drink and a bite to eat on the way, the food is lovely!)  and upto Walker Fold Woodland, where it has recently been invested in and they've created a walkway up to Winter Hill.

There is the local pub, The Victoria Inn (Also known as Fannys, the name of a previous Landlady) which is highly popular, offers an excellent lunch/evening menu and also a fantastic setting for socialising. Reatreat on Chorley New Road is another local favourite for drinks & food and has a fantastic outdoor space, which is lovely in the summer months and for when it is colder, they have heated outdoor area's to cater for all weather fronts.
